On Sunday, March 27, 2016, Sergeant Kirk Mays conducted a traffic stop and noticed that the driver, Gregory A. Davis, 38, of Davis Road, Williamsburg, had a pill on his lap. A search of Davis led to the discovery of a plastic bag in his pants. Inside that bag were smaller bags containing a crystal substance believed to be “ice” methamphetamine. Located in his wallet were two Suboxone films, and in the vehicle was a digital scale. The orange pill from Davis’ lap is believed to be Suboxone.
Davis was arrested and is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (meth), two counts of second-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance not in its original container and driving with obstructed vision or windshield. Sgt. Mays seized the 2000 Saturn vehicle and over $100 in cash. Deputy Jonas Saunders assisted in the investigation.
