Around 2 a.m. May 13, 2016, Deputy James Fox arrested Garrett F. Elmore, 26, of Williamsburg at a Hwy 779 (Browns Creek) residence. Deputies Fox and Jonas Saunders were at the residence with Kentucky State Police Trooper Matt Ridener in an attempt to locate a female suspected of stealing a truck.
That theft was reported by Nantz Brothers Towing of Corbin the day before and sheriff deputies assisted in the successful search for the stolen Ford F-150. KSP Sergeant Les Moses located the truck, and Trooper Ridener arrested a man in connection to the theft.
Deputies assisted in a follow up attempt to locate a another suspect from that theft. That’s when Dep. Fox located Elmore and a female appearing to be hide behind a boat. Court records indicated that Elmore had two warrants for his arrest. During a search, a crystal substance believed to be “ice” methamphetamine was found in one of Elmore’s pants pockets.
Records showed no warrants for the female, and further investigation did not lead to her arrest. Elmore was arrested for the two warrants and also charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth).
