On June 8, 2016, the sheriff’s department received information that a stolen vehicle may be located in Whitley County. A 2014 Kia Optima, maroon in color, was reported stolen from Carlisle, Kentucky.
According to the complaint, 23-year-old Jeremy Tyler Lynn had stolen the vehicle and might be in the Mud Creek area. Sergeant Kirk Mays and Deputy Joe Prewitt searched the area. A vehicle matching that description approached their location, changed direction of travel and eventually drove through a field with deputies in pursuit.
After the vehicle came to a stop, a male fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. A pregnant female, who was a passenger in the vehicle, remained at the scene.
Sgt. Mays obtained arrest warrants for Jeremy T. Lynn for the crimes of fleeing or evading police by vehicle and on foot and also four counts of wanton endangerment. He is also wanted for arrest out of Carlisle Co. for theft by unlawful taking (automobile).
