Around 3 a.m. December 15, 2017, Deputy Brian Hensley responded to a US Hwy 25W residence in reference to a domestic violence complaint. Dep. Hensley was told that 31-year-old Scott Kirklin had physically assaulted his wife.
Scott Kirklin’s wife had left the residence, with her whereabouts and injuries unknown. Dep. Hensley detained Scott Kirklin and discovered on his person two needles and what’s believed to be a Suboxone strip.
Dep. Hensley searched for but was unable to locate the victim, 26-year-old Latosha Kirklin. While in the area, a resident of the home where the domestic disturbance occurred called 911 and said Latosha Kirklin returned to the residence. She acknowledged to Dep. Hensley that she had been assaulted.
Court records indicated that Scott Kirklin had a warrant for his arrest relating to failure to pay child support. He was arrested on that warrant and also charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), third-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Records also indicated Latosha Kirklin had a warrant for her arrest relating to failure to pay child support. She was arrested on that warrant. Both were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
